A life-altering record for Sinead, I Do Not Want was bravely unorthodox in every way possible.
Stretched On Your Grave was an original approach to traditional Irish music, while Emperor’s New Clothes was the first time I had played or heard drums on top of a loop.
Last Day Of Our Acquaintance came from Sinead and I jamming in the studios, trying out a song I’d never before heard. Sinead was saying ‘Come in when I get loud and come out when I nod my head’, but after the first run-through we decided it was as close to perfection as it ever could be.
Jah Wobble’s contribution to the track was added the following week.
